Marine chocks

Marine chocks are clamp-like fairleads mounted on the side of a ship, with or without rollers. They guide the mooring line to the dock or buoy to prevent damage to shipboard equipment. They are commonly used for berthing. They are usually made of cast iron or cast steel. Their advantage is that they reduce wear on the mooring line. Multi-roller fairleads can guide multiple lines simultaneously.
